Arizona ratifies the proposed amendment to the U.S. Constitution regarding equal rights for men and women, originally adopted by Congress on March 22, 1972.

The amendment provides that equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any State on account of sex.

Congress is granted power to enforce the amendment's provisions through appropriate legislation.

The amendment takes effect two years after the date of ratification.

Arizona's Secretary of State shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the President of the United States Senate and the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives.
