Honors the life and legacy of Teofilo "Tio" Archuleta Tachias, who passed away on July 6, 2023, at age 87.

Recognizes Tachias as the first Latino in Flagstaff to win a major election, serving 24 years on the Coconino County Board of Supervisors and later as Arizona Board of Regents president in 1984.

Acknowledges his extensive community service including work with Native Nations, advocacy for tribal sovereignty, voter registration on the Navajo Nation, and receipt of the César Chávez Diversity Award in 2016.

Expresses the Arizona Legislature's regret at his passing and extends deepest condolences to his surviving family members, including his wife of 31 years, four children, 13 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren.

Unanimously adopted by both the House and Senate on July 31, 2023.
