HB2003 Summary

• Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 40-360.03 regarding utility certificates of environmental compatibility for construction of plants and transmission lines

• Allows utilities to replace conductors or wires on existing transmission lines without obtaining a new certificate of environmental compatibility or holding a commission hearing

• Permits replacement of existing transmission line structures with new structures without new certification or hearings if the transmission line previously received a certificate or was in use or authorized before August 13, 1971

• Requires all replacement conductors and structures to comply with the terms and conditions of the applicable existing certificate of environmental compatibility

• Became law upon approval by the Governor on June 21, 2024
