Health care services organizations must provide coverage for hearing aids for enrollees under 18 years old (or under 21 if still attending high school) at a rate of one hearing aid per ear up to $2,200 every 36 months.

Enrollees may choose higher-priced hearing aids and pay the difference above the $2,200 limit without penalty to the enrollee or provider.

Hearing aid coverage includes fitting, dispensing services, ear molds, and related services provided by licensed physicians, audiologists, or hearing aid dispensers.

Coverage may be subject to deductibles and coinsurance consistent with other benefits under the same evidence of coverage.

Applies to evidences of coverage issued with an effective date on or after December 31, 2024, and does not apply to short-term travel, accident-only, or limited benefit coverage.
