Cities and towns are prohibited from restricting the existence or use of community fridges operated by individuals or charitable organizations.

Counties are prohibited from restricting the existence or use of community fridges operated by individuals or charitable organizations.

Operators of community fridges receive the same civil liability protections as charitable organizations when donating, receiving, and distributing apparently wholesome food items and fit nonfood grocery products in good faith.

Donors of food items to community fridge operators are protected from civil liability unless injury or death results from intentional misconduct or gross negligence.

Community fridge is defined as any indoor or outdoor refrigerator that supplies donated foods to the community not for profit.
