School districts and charter schools must adopt a green cleaning policy and purchase environmentally sensitive cleaning products by December 31, 2025, with the option to deplete existing products first.

Schools may delay compliance if economically infeasible, defined as any increase in cleaning costs, and must annually notify the Department of Education in writing of the infeasibility.

State agencies, universities, school districts, and community college districts must purchase at least 10 percent of energy requirements from green sources by July 1, 2029.

Existing state buildings over 50,000 square feet and all new or leased state buildings must conform to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards by July 1, 2029.

A green public schools task force is established to identify retrofit procedures, recommend a model green cleaning policy, and make financing recommendations, with a final report due November 1, 2025, and the task force repealed December 31, 2025.
