• School districts and charter schools must adopt policies specifying how to calculate full and partial credits earned by foster children at their previous school and accept all such credits.

• Schools must attempt to accept credits earned by foster children as core credits rather than electives, considering each learning outcome and competency demonstrated.

• Schools must meet with transferred foster children within 10 days of receiving educational records to review and update graduation plans, providing written copies to the child, parents, and caregivers.

• Charter schools and school districts cannot impose additional or higher graduation requirements on foster children transferring in grades 11-12 beyond state board of education minimum requirements.
