HB 2733 Summary

• Removes provisions allowing emergency voting for electors experiencing unforeseen circumstances between 5:00 p.m. Friday and 5:00 p.m. Monday before an election.

• Extends the deadline for in-person early voting from 5:00 p.m. Friday to 7:00 p.m. Monday immediately preceding the election at on-site or other early voting locations.

• Eliminates the emergency balloting procedure that required electors to sign statements under penalty of perjury regarding unforeseen circumstances preventing them from voting at the polls.

• Removes authority for county recorders to allow voter registration updates specifically for emergency voting situations.

• Makes conforming changes to cross-references and language in election code sections 16-246 and 16-542.
