AZ HB2824

Establishes a community service commendation for high school students who complete at least 200 hours of community service consistent with state board guidelines.

Requires the Department of Education to create an application process for students to apply for the commendation.

Excludes any activity intended to influence an election from qualifying as community service for purposes of the commendation.

Requires school district governing boards to adopt policies and procedures allowing students who meet the 200-hour requirement to apply for the community service commendation.

Applies retroactively to December 31, 2023.
