AZ HCM2007

Urges the President of the United States to rescind or revoke the designation of the Baaj Nwaavjo I'tah Kukveni (Ancestral Footprints of the Grand Canyon National Monument) established in 2023, which covers approximately 1 million acres in Northern Arizona.

Opposes the monument designation on grounds that it restricts uranium mining, cattle grazing, logging, hunting, and other multiple-use activities that local communities depend on economically and could reduce state trust land revenues by hundreds of millions of dollars.

Argues the monument designation violates the Antiquities Act of 1906 by failing to identify specific eligible historic or scientific objects and by reserving land area exceeding what is necessary for protection of such objects.

Requests the President refrain from designating any future national monuments, parks, wildlife refuges, or other federal land reservations in Arizona without express authorization from Congress, the Arizona Legislature, and affected county boards of supervisors.

Directs Arizona's Secretary of State to transmit copies of this memorial to the President, Congress, and all U.S. Congressional representatives from Arizona.
