Dr. Peter Pingerelli passed away on February 18, 2024, at age 65 after a lifelong battle with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).

Dr. Pingerelli earned a Ph.D. in Biophysics from Wayne State University and spent 25 years in the biotechnology industry, including serving as Codirector of the Neuro-Proteomics Laboratory at the Barrow Neurological Institute.

He was an Associate Adjunct Faculty member at Grand Canyon University, served two terms on the Western Maricopa Education Center (West-MEC) governing board, and held a specialized secondary STEM certificate from the Arizona Department of Education.

Dr. Pingerelli was married to Beverly for 35 years and had two daughters, Kayla and Angela; he also managed his wife's successful campaigns for the Arizona House of Representatives.

The House of Representatives expresses sincere regret at his death and extends condolences to his surviving family members.
