AZ SB1017

Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 41-192 to add the department of education to the list of state agencies exempt from the requirement to use the attorney general for legal counsel.

The department of education is added as item 12 to the existing exemptions that already include the director of water resources, industrial commission, Arizona board of regents, auditor general, corporation commission, governor's office, constitutional defense council, state treasurer, Arizona commerce authority, and water infrastructure finance authority.

Maintains existing provisions allowing other state agencies to employ outside legal counsel when the attorney general is disqualified or when conflicts of interest exist.
