AZ SB1020

Adds Duchenne muscular dystrophy to Arizona's newborn screening panel in addition to disorders currently included on the recommended uniform screening panel.

Requires the department of health services to add new congenital disorders to the state's newborn screening panel within two years after they are added to the federally recommended uniform screening panel.

Becomes effective on October 1, 2026, or two years after Duchenne muscular dystrophy is added to the federal recommended uniform screening panel, whichever is earlier.

Requires the director of the department of health services to notify the Arizona legislative council in writing within ten days after Duchenne muscular dystrophy is added to the federal recommended uniform screening panel.
