Health insurers offering gender transition procedure coverage must also cover gender detransition procedures beginning January 1, 2025.

Physicians and health care institutions performing gender transition procedures must agree to provide or pay for gender detransition procedures.

Health insurers must submit monthly reports to the Department within 15 days of detransition procedure claims, including claim count, patient age/sex, prior transition procedure date, and patient residence state/county, but excluding names and identifying information.

The Department must compile annual statistical reports from insurer submissions and provide them to the Governor, legislature, and Secretary of State.

State agencies must adopt expedited procedures by June 30, 2026 for individuals undergoing gender detransition to update their names and sex or gender designations on licenses, certificates, permits, and official documents; this requirement expires December 31, 2026.
