AZ SB1550

Establishes the Arizona climate resiliency planning group composed of representatives from 16 interest areas including electric power, manufacturing, agriculture, construction, transportation, tourism, nonprofits, tribes, public health, universities, and government agencies.

Apportions membership with the Speaker and President of the Senate, and minority leaders of both chambers each appointing five members, and the Governor appointing two members, ensuring all 16 interest areas are represented.

Directs the group to compile a greenhouse gas emissions inventory, revise the 2006 climate change action plan, develop a climate resiliency plan, and identify measures to reduce emissions to 50% below 2005 levels by 2031 and 90% below 2005 levels by 2051.

Requires the group to direct state agencies to identify and characterize current and future climate risks to water resources, energy systems, infrastructure, natural lands, and temperature-sensitive populations.

Mandates submission of a report with findings and recommendations to the Governor, legislative leaders, and Secretary of State by August 31, 2025, with the group being automatically repealed on March 31, 2026.
