School districts and charter schools may not prohibit nursing teacher mothers from bringing their infant to school to breastfeed.

Schools must provide reasonable break times and a private place shielded from view for teachers to breastfeed or express breast milk.

Schools are exempt from providing accommodations if they can demonstrate undue hardship, including costs, available resources, substantial program alteration, classroom disruption, or safety concerns.

Schools are not required to provide child care services.
