AZ SB1617

Amends Arizona law governing secure behavioral health residential facilities that provide 24-hour supervised treatment for seriously mentally ill individuals placed or committed via court order under sections 36-550.09 or 13-4521.

Establishes a maximum of 16 beds per facility and clarifies that facilities serving persons under section 36-550.09 court orders cannot serve other persons on premises, and facilities serving persons under section 13-4521 court orders cannot serve other persons on premises.

Requires the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System Administration director to submit an annual report by September 1 to the governor, legislature, and supreme court detailing appropriations used and available beds for persons placed under section 36-550.09.

Requires the Administrative Office of the Courts to submit a separate annual report by September 1 on available beds for persons committed under section 13-4521.

Defines "secure" as premises limiting patient egress in the least restrictive manner consistent with the patient's court-ordered treatment plan.
