Amends section 41-745 of Arizona Revised Statutes to modify the covered and uncovered service status of Department of Child Safety (DCS) employees.

DCS employees at pay grade 19 or above (or equivalent under a successor compensation system) shall be placed in covered service, providing them with appeal rights and employee protections.

Positions filled by uncovered employees on the effective date of this amendment shall be converted to covered service for all future appointments to those positions.

Positions filled by covered employees on the effective date shall remain in covered service for the current incumbent and all future appointments unless the employee voluntarily elects to become an at-will uncovered employee.

Changes DCS employee status to provide greater job security and appeal rights protections for higher-level positions within the department.
