Honors the passing of former Arizona House Speaker James P. Weiers, who died on April 19, 2024, at age 70.

Commemorates Weiers' career as a Republican legislator elected in 1994, serving in the House as Speaker from 2001-2002 and 2005-2009, and one term in the Senate before termed out in 2013.

Recognizes Weiers' legislative accomplishments including advocacy for small businesses, school choice, public safety, establishment of legislative television, and bipartisan closure of the legislature for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Extends condolences from the Arizona Legislature to Weiers' surviving family: wife Gina, four children (Jenee, Jason, Jana, and Jared), twelve grandchildren, and siblings.

Unanimously adopted by the House on May 15, 2024, and the Senate on May 14, 2024.
