HB 2172 Summary

• Department of Education must develop and maintain a webpage for parent training programs and resources related to child sex trafficking and internet crimes against children

• At least one free training program must be available on the webpage covering both child sex trafficking and internet crimes against children, with potential use of existing Arizona Department of Homeland Security programs

• Schools (K-8 districts and charter schools) must provide information about the training program and available resources to parents or guardians upon request

• Information provided to parents must include a statement encouraging completion of the training program at least once per year and a description of how to access the free training program

• Schools may distribute the required information to parents at the beginning of each school year or when a student transfers to the school
