HB 2332 Summary

• Requires the Department of Health Services to identify, compile, and distribute educational materials about maternal mental health conditions, including postpartum depression, to health care professionals and patients.

• Mandates health care institutions provide written materials on postpartum depression to new parents and family members upon discharge.

• Requires primary care physicians, practitioners, and other health professionals to provide maternal mental health materials to pregnant women and those showing signs of maternal mental health disorders.

• Establishes an advisory committee on obstetrics, gynecology, and maternal mental health in rural communities with representatives from hospitals, health professionals, insurers, and tribal facilities to develop recommendations for improving rural maternal care services.

• Advisory committee must submit findings and recommendations on rural maternal health services and postpartum depression screening and treatment by December 31, 2026, and is repealed June 30, 2027.
