• County Board of Supervisors must complete at least 6 hours of professional development training within one year after certification of election, covering open meetings laws, finance, budget matters, and county governance, with costs reimbursed by the county.

• County supervisors association shall submit annual report by December 31 listing elected officials who attended required training to each county's Clerk of the Board.

• County governing board members who knowingly fail to complete professional development certification face civil penalties of $50 per hour not completed.

• County treasurers and chief deputy treasurers must complete minimum 10 hours of continuing education annually while in office, including at least 1 hour on waste, fraud, and abuse prevention.

• County treasurers and chief deputy treasurers must submit certified statement with documentation of continuing education completion by December 31 each year; failure to do so results in civil penalties of $50 per hour not completed, capped at $500.
