• Amends section 38-644 of Arizona Revised Statutes to expand eligibility for the public safety cancer insurance policy program to allow retirees to continue coverage by paying an actuarially determined premium.

• Permits retirees who did not receive covered benefits during their employment to elect continued coverage under the program by paying premiums, with annual payments deducted from pension payments.

• Allows retirees to discontinue coverage within 180 days of payment and request a refund, but becoming ineligible if coverage is terminated.

• Repeals Laws 2012, chapter 287, section 2, as amended by subsequent legislation, effective December 31, 2025.

• Requires the public safety personnel retirement system administrator to work with its advisory committee and actuary to update plan documents to comply with the amended section 38-644 by January 1, 2027.
