HB2695 Summary

• Amends Section 46-454 to add "banking or financial professional" to the list of individuals required to report suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation of vulnerable adults to peace officers or adult protective services.

• Creates Section 46-456.01 allowing financial institutions to offer financially vulnerable adults the opportunity to designate a trusted contact person.

• Permits financial institutions with reasonable suspicion of exploitation to contact a financially vulnerable adult's trusted contact, co-owners, authorized signatories, beneficiaries, or associated individuals without customer consent.

• Requires financial institutions providing exploitation training to employees to retain training materials, maintain attendance records with completion dates, and provide materials to the Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions upon request.

• Grants financial institutions immunity from civil or administrative liability for good faith actions taken to prevent exploitation of financially vulnerable adults, provided they have provided employee training.
