AZ HCR2005

Proposes to amend Article IX, Section 3 of the Arizona Constitution relating to annual taxes and state revenue.

Removes the phrase "in money only" from the constitutional requirement that all taxes levied and collected for state purposes be paid into the state treasury.

Retains existing language requiring the legislature to provide for an annual tax sufficient to cover ordinary state expenses and to pay state debt principal within 25 years.

Retains existing language requiring that every tax law distinctly state its object and that tax revenue be applied only to that stated object.

Requires submission of the proposed amendment to Arizona voters at the next general election.
