AZ HCR2035

Proposes an amendment to Arizona Constitution Article IX by adding section 26 to prohibit taxes or fees based on vehicle miles traveled by any person in a motor vehicle.

Prohibits the state, counties, cities, towns, and other political subdivisions from enacting rules or laws to monitor or limit vehicle miles traveled unless the person voluntarily consents to the monitoring or limitation.

Exempts interstate agreements established to administer fuel tax or registration fee payments for commercial vehicles operating in multiple states.

Exempts motor vehicles owned and operated by the state or political subdivisions from the restrictions.

Requires submission of the proposition to voters at the next general election.
