Paul Gilbert Berumen passed away on January 14, 2025 at age 57 after battling cancer.

He served as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps Reserve during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

His 30-year professional career included roles with the Arizona-Mexico Commission, City of Phoenix (assistant to the mayor), City of Mesa, Arizona State University, and the Transportation Security Administration, with significant contributions to airport security and public safety programs.

He was a graduate of St. Mary's Catholic High School, married at St. Gregory Catholic Church, and was a man of deep faith.

The House of Representatives expresses sincere regret at his death and extends deepest sympathies to his surviving family members, including his wife Monica Hernandez.
