AZ SB1020

Amends A.R.S. § 13-2911 to prohibit university, college, and community college governing boards from enacting policies that ban concealed weapons carried by persons with valid permits issued under § 13-3112 or firearms transported/stored under § 12-781.

Clarifies that governing boards cannot prohibit lawful possession or carrying of deadly weapons on public rights-of-way or within a person's means of transportation.

Maintains existing prohibitions on interference with or disruption of educational institutions, with penalties of class 6 felony for threats and class 1 misdemeanor for unlawful entry or refusal to leave.

Preserves exceptions allowing school districts to conduct approved gun safety programs on campuses and exempts private educational institutions from the weapon possession rules.
