SB1085 Summary

• Adds "always hangared aircraft" (aircraft stored in hangars and never flown) to the list of aircraft exempt from state registration requirements under section 28-8322.

• Expands the use tax exemption for aircraft maintenance and repair supplies to include persons maintaining, repairing or overhauling general aviation aircraft, not just certificated or licensed carriers.

• Adds exemptions for aircraft and related equipment sold to persons that will use the property for maintaining, repairing or overhauling general aviation aircraft under both the retail classification (section 42-5061) and use tax sections (section 42-5159).

• Applies to taxable periods beginning on or after the first day of the month following the general effective date.
