Schools must be closed on all regular primary and general election days, with teachers and staff receiving compensation for in-service training or development activities rather than using personal leave.

Counties may establish voting centers allowing any registered voter in the county to vote at any location after presenting identification, in addition to or instead of traditional precinct polling places.

State, county, city, town, and school district offices must provide sufficient space for polling places when requested by the officer in charge of elections.

Public schools with gymnasiums operated by school districts must provide space for polling places when requested, and are exempt from state, local, or school district requirements that would prevent such use.

The secretary of state must establish maximum allowable wait times for elections and provide methods to reduce voter wait times by considering factors such as early voting rates, registered voter numbers, and election board staffing levels.
