State board of education shall require instruction on Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander history beginning in the 2028-2029 school year as part of course of study and competency requirements.

School districts and charter schools must consider history of these groups in the state, region, and United States; their civil rights contributions; and their achievements in arts, humanities, science, and government.

Department of education shall require annual attestations from school districts and charter schools by June 14, 2029 and each subsequent year confirming instruction is planned, ongoing, and systematic.

Defines "Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders" to include Americans of East Asian, Southeast Asian, South Asian, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander descent.
