SB1334 Summary

• Requires government-owned buildings and facilities of counties, cities, and towns that are accessible to the public to be made available as voting locations when requested by election officers, beginning in 2026.

• Allows election officers to designate non-government-owned polling places as "non-electioneering" sites only if an act of God renders a previous polling place unusable or all other suitable facilities have been exhausted and are unwilling to serve as polling places.

• Requires county recorders to post online at least two weeks before election day a list of polling places designated as non-electioneering sites, including the reason for the designation and the number of location search attempts made.

• Permits electioneering and other political activity outside the 75-foot restricted zone at all polling places and early voting sites unless specifically designated as non-electioneering locations under the emergency conditions outlined above.

• Directs the Secretary of State to establish maximum allowable wait times for elections and provide methods to reduce voter wait times using data on prior voting patterns, current registration, early voting participation, and staffing levels.
