Schools serving grades 6-12 must make feminine hygiene products (tampons and sanitary napkins) available at no cost in all women's and gender-neutral restrooms.

Schools operated by school districts or charter schools are prohibited from charging students or families for feminine hygiene products provided under this requirement.

$2,500,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2025-2026 to the Department of Education for distribution to school districts and charter schools.

The appropriated funds are designated specifically to help schools provide feminine hygiene products as required by the new statute.
