Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 38-764 regarding the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) to allow state elected officials to retire without resigning their position.

Permits a state elected official who reaches normal retirement age through non-elected employment to retire at any time while remaining in their elected office.

Designates a state elected official who retires under this provision as a "retired member" as of their retirement date.

Requires the employer to pay the alternate contribution rate on behalf of the retired member pursuant to section 38-766.02.
