Governing boards may not approve or select any textbook or instructional material that contains matter reflecting adversely on persons based on race, ethnicity, sex, religion, disability, nationality, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

Applies the restriction to both common schools (section 15-721) and high schools (section 15-722).

Maintains existing requirements for public review periods of at least 60 days before textbook selection and approval.

Requires school districts to make lists of library books and materials purchased after January 1, 2023 available on websites for public review for at least 60 days after purchase.
