Department of Child Safety, in collaboration with Department of Education, must identify or develop a statewide child sexual abuse and assault awareness and prevention program by July 1, 2026.

Program shall include teacher training modules on prevention, identification, and response to child sexual abuse and assault, plus resources for students, teachers, and parents.

Student educational materials for kindergarten through grade 12 must cover recognizing abuse and boundary violations, promoting disclosure, reducing self-blame, and mobilizing bystanders.

Program must include uniform response policies and reporting procedures, intervention and counseling options, educational resources for victims, and procedures for reporting abuse to school staff.

Each public school must implement the statewide program by October 1, 2026, but parents or legal guardians may exempt their children through written notification.
