Cities and counties that require local regulatory permits or licenses for vacation rentals and short-term rentals may adopt ordinances requiring online lodging marketplaces (such as Airbnb or VRBO) to remove listings within seven days when notified that a property's permit or license has expired, been revoked, or is no longer valid.

Local governments must provide the online lodging marketplace with the listing's website address and any other available identifying information when requesting removal.

The bill amends both Section 9-500.39 (for cities and towns) and Section 11-269.17 (for counties) of the Arizona Revised Statutes to add these new enforcement provisions.

Existing regulations remain unchanged, including permit fees capped at $250, liability insurance requirements of at least $500,000, and civil penalties ranging from $500 to $3,500 for verified violations.
