Recognizes his career beginning with election to the Tucson Unified School District Governing Board in 1974, followed by service on the Pima County Board of Supervisors starting in 1988

Commemorates his twelve consecutive terms in the United States House of Representatives beginning in 2002, including more than two decades on the House Natural Resources Committee where he served as Chair

Highlights his role in protecting tribal sovereignty and public lands, including authoring the National Landscape Conservation System Act and supporting the 2023 designation of the Baaj Nwaavjo I'tah Kukveni-Ancestral Footprints of the Grand Canyon National Monument protecting nearly one million acres
