Arizona would join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, an agreement among states to award their electoral votes to the presidential candidate who wins the national popular vote rather than the state popular vote.

The compact only takes effect when member states collectively possess a majority of electoral votes (270 or more), ensuring the national popular vote winner becomes president.

Presidential electors would be required to cast their votes for their party's nominees, and any elector who refuses would be automatically removed and replaced.

Member states must finalize their vote counts at least six days before the electoral college meeting and share official results with other member states within 24 hours.

States may withdraw from the agreement, but withdrawals within six months of a president's term ending would not take effect until a new president is qualified to serve.
