Divides Maricopa County into multiple new counties by redefining boundaries for Maricopa, Gila, Pinal, Yavapai, Yuma, and La Paz counties based on city boundaries, highways, and geographic features

Redefines Maricopa County to a significantly smaller area bounded primarily by city limits of Phoenix, Glendale, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, and portions of Interstate 10

Expands Gila County westward to include areas currently in Maricopa County, extending to portions of Mesa, Tempe, Scottsdale, Cave Creek, and Paradise Valley boundaries

Requires the legislative council staff to prepare conforming legislation for the 58th Legislature, first regular session

Takes effect December 31, 2026
