AZ SCR1020

Proposes a constitutional amendment requiring state legislator salaries to be automatically adjusted annually for inflation or deflation based on the Consumer Price Index, using the most recently voter-approved salary as the baseline

Automatic salary adjustments would take effect on the second Monday in January each year

Removes the current requirement that legislative salaries can only be changed through the Commission on Salaries for Elective State Officers ballot process

Maintains the existing commission process for determining salaries of other elected state officers (Governor, Attorney General, etc.), which still requires voter approval for legislative salary recommendations

If approved by the legislature, the constitutional amendment would appear on the next general election ballot for voter approval
