AB 1605 Summary

• Department of General Services must complete initial review of school construction or modernization plans within 90 days for projects under $20 million and 120 days for projects of $20 million or more, from the date of submission by the local educational agency

• Employees funded by fees collected under Section 17301 are exempt from any furloughs implemented by state agencies, boards, or commissions

• Department of General Services must submit a report to the Senate and Assembly Committees on Education by January 1, 2016, containing the average number of days required to complete initial plan reviews submitted on or after January 1, 2011

• Section 17303.5 of the Education Code is repealed effective January 1, 2017, unless extended by later statute enacted before that date
