Amends Government Code Section 31639.7 to allow specified Los Angeles County members who become safety members through a consolidation of the Los Angeles County Office of Public Safety with the Sheriff's Department to receive service credit for prior duties as officers.

Requires members electing to receive the service credit to pay the difference between contributions actually made as general members and contributions that would have been made as safety members, plus regular interest.

Permits members to fund the required contributions through either a lump sum payment or installment payments with no other restrictions on the election.

Applies to members in Los Angeles County affected by the consolidation of the Office of Public Safety with the Sheriff's Department.
