Requires specified state agencies to collect and report demographic data using separate categories for additional Asian groups (Bangladeshi, Hmong, Indonesian, Malaysian, Pakistani, Sri Lankan, Taiwanese, Thai) and Pacific Islander groups (Fijian, Tongan) in addition to existing categories.

Applies to eight state agencies: Department of Health Care Services, Department of Public Health, Department of Social Services, Employment Development Department, Department of Industrial Relations, State Personnel Board, Department of Fair Employment and Housing, and State Department of Education.

Mandates all state agencies collecting demographic data include the specified categories in any published demographic reports on ancestry or ethnic origin of Californians on or after July 1, 2011.

Requires affected state agencies to make collected demographic data available to the public in accordance with state and federal law, with personal identifying information kept confidential.

Obligates state agencies to update their data collection categories to match those used by the United States Census Bureau within 18 months after each decennial Census is released.
