CA AB1829

Repeals Section 648.1 of the Military and Veterans Code and adds Section 1821 to consolidate military decoration fraud offenses under Penal Code Section 532b.

Increases penalty for falsely representing oneself as awarded a military decoration from an infraction to a misdemeanor, or an infraction or misdemeanor for veterans of the Armed Forces.

Defines "military decoration" to include any decoration, medal, badge, service ribbon, button, rosette from U.S. Armed Forces, California National Guard, State Military Reserve, or Naval Militia, or colorable imitations.

Exempts face-to-face solicitations involving less than $10 from the military decoration fraud offense.

Contains conditional operative language for Section 19.8 amendments based on whether AB 451 and/or AB 1675 are enacted, establishing different amendment versions.
