Authorizes school districts to permit physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, and nursing students (under RN supervision) to administer immunizing agents to pupils with parental consent, in addition to licensed physicians and surgeons.

Requires health care practitioners administering immunizations to act under the direction of a supervising physician and surgeon and comply with standing orders and State Department of Public Health regulations.

Mandates notification of the school nurse, who maintains supervisory control over immunization programs in accordance with existing health supervision duties.

Limits non-physician administration of immunizations to seasonal influenza, pandemic influenza, and diseases declared as current or potential outbreaks by federal, state, or local public health officers.

Requires supervising physicians to ensure health care practitioners demonstrate competence in immunization administration, knowledge of contraindications and emergency treatment, and possess necessary medications and equipment to treat adverse reactions.
