AB 1968 Summary

• Transfers responsibility for preparing ballot titles, summaries, and fiscal estimates from the Attorney General and Department of Finance/Joint Legislative Budget Committee to the Legislative Analyst

• Extends deadlines for preparing circulating titles and summaries from 15 days to 30 days after receipt of the final initiative measure text

• Requires the Legislative Analyst to prepare fiscal impact estimates or opinions for proposed initiative measures within the extended 30-day deadline, or provide an opinion on whether substantial net changes in state or local finances would result

• Makes all provisions operative only upon voter approval of Assembly Constitutional Amendment 20 of the 2009-10 Regular Session
