CA AB2021

Authorizes the State Fire Marshal to enforce fire and panic safety building standards on all University of California campuses and properties administered or occupied by the University of California.

Allows the State Fire Marshal to delegate enforcement authority to a Designated Campus Fire Marshal of their choice for each UC campus or property.

Extends authority to Designated Campus Fire Marshals to make written requests for and perform fire prevention inspections of state-owned or state-occupied buildings.

Requires Designated Campus Fire Marshals to enforce fire and panic safety regulations and building standards consistent with California Building Standards Code.

Authorizes appeals of any requirements or orders made by a Designated Campus Fire Marshal to the State Fire Marshal for review.
