Authorizes courts to order, as a condition of probation, that persons convicted of prohibited voter registration activities be prohibited from receiving money or other consideration for assisting others to register to vote.

Authorizes courts to order, as a condition of probation, that persons convicted of violating initiative, referendum, or recall petition circulation laws be prohibited from receiving money or other consideration for gathering signatures on such petitions.

Adds Section 18112 to the Elections Code to implement voter registration payment prohibitions and Section 18604 to implement petition signature gathering payment prohibitions.

Approved by Governor on September 25, 2010 and chaptered as Chapter 372.
