Extends firearm qualification requirements from quarterly to every six months for probation officers, deputy probation officers, and certain probation department employees with custodial or transportation responsibilities who carry firearms

Applies the six-month qualification requirement to superintendents, supervisors, employees with custodial responsibilities in probation institutions, and transportation officers of probation departments

Maintains training requirements under Section 832 and responsibility for individual officers to maintain eligibility to carry concealable firearms off duty

Removes the requirement that failure to maintain quarterly qualifications constitutes automatic grounds to suspend or revoke off-duty firearm carrying rights for these probation department personnel
